This is the final album by the band known as These Branches.

I won't waste your time with some epic, self-aggrandizing pat on the back biography paragraph here, but for those not in the know:

These Branches were a band from Summer 2009 until Summer 2016.
We had a lot of fun, made a lot of noise and did it for the right reasons, in our minds.

The dissolution of this band was an unfortunate one, and we won't go into details here. Our last show included massive equipment failures, and this album itself is by no means "perfect" or "finished" but hey, it's punk, right?

We were fortunate enough to work with some of the best DIY bands and record labels around during our short time as a project.
For every single one of you that let us sleep on your floor, booked us a show, released a record with us or just said "Hey..."
This record is for you.

Two years in the making and this nail in the coffin is complete.
This is closure.

Thanks again.

Track Name: Grown Wrong
Everyone you know will be consumed
At the hands of a paycheck
You will never make them feel the same
You will never make them feel whole again
What they've been missing
You've been holding on to
You will never make them feel the same
You will never make them feel whole again
Track Name: Tethers
Sometimes to kill the fear of flying away
A baby bird must spit back in his mother's face
Sometimes to play into the hands of another
That same bird must turn two against each other
I've seen broken wings like this before
But never quite this mature
Track Name: Amazing Gray
The walls aren't caving in
The temples are going gray
The stones accumulating
The joints, tear and fade away
The bones, they weather and age
Amazing gray
(What a still-age to feel this way)
Track Name: Better Oft
There are worse things than moving on
That I know i should be concerned with
A bigger picture, but i just can't i just cant help myself
There are worse things than sleeping alone
Like not knowing if
You will sleep at all
Or if that's all you will ever do
Track Name: Apolitical
Does nothing
For us
Our culture
Pushes back what we should move forward.
Compliments to the left as the right moves over
Only aids
The failing
We have been taught and learned to accept
The ailments of a society enslaved in debts
Track Name: Systemic Thoughts
My mind just wants to
Think itself into the future
My nerves just want to stop the ache
My hands just know what it is to be
Holding on to something
We can believe

But it's just not realistic
To have all you desire
At your fingers
It's just wishful thinking

My heart just wants to heal itself
Never skip a beat
My eyes just want to sleep and sleep
Dreams always were better than you

But it's just not realistic
To have all you desire
At your fingertips
It's just wishful thinking
Juxtaposing expectation with reality
Track Name: Fulfillment
As we're summing up
As we're moving on
Articulating our next breath
Our words soon to be gone (from our lips)
And no matter what battle field we are on
There is a fulfillment in placing this in song

The tip of my tongue
The body you hide inside
The idea of this space
The permanence of this place

Knowing it will soon be gone...
It's the hardest part of being...
Of gathering my thoughts
But at least I know there will be
Something to carry on
When I'm gone
